Yellow agate is banded with layers of chalcedony which is a microcrystalline form of quartz that gets its colour from iron oxide.

Please note - crystals are natural products of the earth which means they are likely to have imperfections; surface marks, inclusions, cavities and/or natural chips. Some crystals may be carved by hand so might not be as perfect as machine cut pieces. I try to photograph any of these imperfections but some are difficult to see on camera.
